Podiatry Residency
The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (P.M.S.R.) program at L.A. Downtown Medical Center is a comprehensive program accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (C.P.M.E.), with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery.
Offering one residency position at L.A. Downtown Medical Center each year, the program has numerous beneficial affiliations with other facilities. Foremost are its partnerships with Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in Fontana/Ontario & South Bay, in addition to an affiliation with USC Keck Medical Center.
Each program year is distinctly unique for our residents.
- First year residents focus on covering a variety of surgical cases at L.A. Downtown Medical Center while also rotating at surgical centers and multiple private practice offices throughout the Los Angeles region. In addition they spend several months at USC Keck Medical Center and Kaiser South Bay Medical Center.
- Our Second year residents spend the majority of their time at the Kaiser South Bay Medical Center and VA Loma Linda Medical Center.
- Third year residents are dedicated entirely to podiatric surgical cases at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals in Fontana and Ontario.
Our residents graduate with a very well rounded experience and with surgical numbers that far exceed the graduation requirement.
